The World Famous Bob Stupak Movie! is a feature film about the life and adventures of Bob Stupak, one of the people who helped to make Las Vegas what it is today. Bob's adventures began as an entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word. His early business dealings led him to Las Vegas, where he quickly deduced that the only way to make money in a casino was to own it! Thus began his lifelong romance with Las Vegas, first with his hugely successful Vegas World, leading to the massively ambitious and massively tall Stratosphere Tower and Casino. Dodging disaster when a fire threatened the project, he doggedly pursued his dream of creating the then tallest freestanding structure in the United States. Bob's other adventures included placing the largest bet on the Super Bowl at $1,000,000 and playing basketball with the Harlem Globe Trotters. Bob's story continued to be as colourful up to his death, with him playing in major poker tournaments, including one with a cash buy-in of $500,000, and his winning a coveted bracelet in the World Series of Poker.
It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Bob Stupak.
Bob was intrigued and enthusiastic about the idea of a film based on his
colorful life and we were grateful for his generosity in providing
research material from his personal archives. It was typical of Bob
Stupak that he was happy for the film to be as flamboyant as his life, rather than being a bland
hagiography. He was, in this respect as in many others, an
extraordinary man. |
